PRESCHOOL
2 1/2 – 4 1/2 YEARS OLD
Room Overview
At Community Concern #13 we believe preschoolers are rapidly expanding their knowledge and mastery of the world around them. Play is the young child’s medium for learning, creating something for themselves and others. Young children expend great effort in completing what they set out to do. Our program and staff are there to help facilitate their learning in all developmental areas – physical, social, emotional, and intellectual.
Warm and Nurturing Interactions are Part of our Daily Care
Children are encouraged to learn about the world around them through balance or play, exploration, and guided activities. We develop activities and materials that are chosen based on children’s interest and designed to foster independence, cooperation and self-esteem. Age appropriate language and pre-reading or reading activities are staples of everyday learning. Our curriculum complies with developmentally appropriate practices and the nationally recognized standards for early childhood.
Parents must bring a complete extra set of clothing and a sheet or blanket to their child’s classroom on the first day your child attends the program. All belongings must be labeled. All sheets/blankets must be taken home every Friday for laundering and returned on Monday.
